Teaching Practice (Second Phase) : Weekly Experience (Fifth week)
Day 17 (10/07/2023, Monday)
Is the beginning of the fifth week of our teaching practice. Reached the school at 9:15 a.m. and signed the attendance register. Served the mid day meals to the students. Today I had 8L class at 5th period. The lesson animal cell was taken with the help of video showing the structure of animal cell. Class was properly managed and students were active participants of the class. At 6 period I visited 9E class for the peer observation of Sneha teachers class. Her class was good. She had a good content knowledge. But she has to pay more attention while giving reinforcement to the students.
Day 18 (11/07/2023, Tuesday)
Reached the school at 9:15 a.m. At first period I visited 9C for for the peer observation of Archana teacher's class. The lesson viscosity was taken through demonstration method. Students also participated in the experiment. I had 9G class at 2nd period and 4th period. The lessons liver and pancreas and food in the small intestine was taken in 2nd period and 4th period respectively. Formative and summative evaluation was effective. Maintained voice modulation throughout the class. Activities were given as per the lesson template. At 5th period I collected data from some 10C students for my project.
Day 19 (12/07/2023, Wednesday)
Reached the school at 9:15 a.m. During free time I check the notebooks of students in 8L class. Mini teacher asked me to correct the answer sheets of 9L students. I corrected the answer sheets and made the mark list. At third period I visited eight a class for the peer observation of Geethu teacher's class. The lesson weathering was taken using advanced organiser model method. Her class was good. At 5th period I visited 9C 4 for peer observation of Sruthi teacher's class. She made PPT in an innovative way. She had a good content knowledge.
Day 20 (13/07/2023, Thursday)
Today Viji miss visited our school for observation of physical science class. At second period Rani miss visited our school surprisingly for observation. I had 8L class at second period. Rani miss visited my class. She suggested that I had good communication skill and my introduction of the lesson was also good. But I always keep the white board marker in my hand and it should be avoided. At 4th period I visited 8J for peer observation of Praveena teacher's class. The story was beautifully portrayed. Difficult words were taught to students by providing real life situations. Discourse was given to make conversation and role play. But she has to improve her blackboard writing. At 5th period I had 8L class. The lesson stem cells was taken with the help of video. Blackboard writing was good. Consolidated the class by summarising all the points.
Day 21 (14/07/2023, Friday)
Reached the school at 9:15 a.m. Collected the signature of Mini teacher in today's lesson plan. Mini teacher asked me to help her in writing and consolidating the mark list of different classes. At lunch break Yadhu visited me and shared his personal likes such as his ambition, favourite subject etc. Today I had 9G class at second and third period. The lessons structure of villus and diffusion was taken in 2nd period and third period respectively. Students were active participants of the class. The lesson diffusion was taken using inquiry training model method. Problem was introduced to the students in the form of story. Students asked yes or no questions for making hypothesis and they confirmed their hypothesis. Students were interested to learn in the new method. At 4th period I visited 8K for the peer observation Vidya teacher's class. She had a good content knowledge. Her blackboard writing was good. She has to improve her skill of providing reinforcement.
